Stunning vintage Fenton Art Glass Cranberry Opal Spiral Optic vase, dating to the 1950s. This unusual form is commonly referred to as a lamp shade style vase, featuring Fenton’s beautiful Spiral Optic pattern with alternating cranberry pink and opalescent white spirals.
The rounded shade-like body is finished with a dramatic hand-ruffled and flared rim. The underside features the distinctive starburst design associated with these lamp-style forms.
Fenton produced Spiral Optic lamp components during this period, and examples of this form were reportedly left intact rather than having the bottoms cut for use as shades, allowing them to be sold and used as decorative vases.
